How did TransEd drop the ball this badly? This is on top of a bad concrete pour for the Whitemud overpass that required them to completely redo it a few years back.

    Anthony Henday Drive

Exactly. It takes them a week at most to repave the asphalt highway sections on the other hand (like how they've done so on parts of the eastern leg). (I may be exaggerating but to me, it almost looks like they just did that out of nowhere).

    Anthony Henday Drive

All this for one extra lane per direction that'll probably fill up in a few months to the original traffic levels because of induced demand. If only they paved roadway with asphalt from the beginning 🙁

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Maybe if we can prove ourselves as a decent market for flights to Frankfurt, they could consider offering more service throughout the year.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

I'd really love for them to bring a rail connection to the airport. Not only is it great for freight services but it opens a potential route for an airport express passenger route.

Not too familiar with the alignment north of the power plant but the roundabout could create more green space for gondola poles.

I actually like the idea of keeping that second crossing. It has more convenient access to McDougall Hill and Grierson. I am curious as to your thoughts on why we should remove it instead.

Also, this is how I would reconfigure the roads in the Rossdale and Cloverdale areas: If we redid the James MacDonald Bridge, I would want to get rid of the grade changes and keep the bridge nice and low, with two lanes per direction (separated by a line or very small median) and walkways on...

    Misc. Transportation Projects

Honestly, if it were up to me, I would smite the entire James MacDonald Bridge. I remember one time when I was walking under that bridge on the riverside pathway and it was so dark underneath it and really loud from the cars above, plus the bridge above was W I D E. Anyways, there was a car...

Keep 102 Ave closed to vehicles

A bee-themed street name would certainly JAZZ it up, if you know what I mean ;)

Looks like the new transit peace officers have BEEn hard at work!

    LRT Expansion Planning

Maybe they're trying to time it with construction of the south Capital Line extension. Originally, they wanted to build a new LRV facility in Montrose to store the extra fleet, but when they expedited the south extension, they consolidated that facility into the new OMF by the Henday. Perhaps...

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

Imma be real with y'all, I don't care what the speed limit's gonna be. The moment the whole Yellowhead's a freeway, as long as the road conditions are good and I can evade photo radar, I'm driving down that road at a minimum of 100 km/h Henday to Henday (i.e. basically what everyone does on the...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Alright let's stop the toxicity now. I'm very much Team Edmonton and Team EIA but IanO's criticism of occidentalcapital is valid. First of all, let's get it out of the way that YYC is not the end-all-be-all driver of Calgary's economy that propelled it ahead of Edmonton. That is very much the...

    Terwillegar Drive Expansion

Anyone know why they knocked down the lampposts along the completed portion of the MUP by Terwillegar Drive?

    Terwillegar Drive Expansion

Jesus Christ, that MUP crossing the directional ramp and the loop looks terrifying! I hope at the very least, the city installs flashing yellow pedestrian-activated lights. Knowing Edmonton drivers, one-ton hunks of metal will be barreling through those crossings at Henday speeds.

Hopefully we all see the day when Flair grows enough to inherit the legacy of Wardair.

Maybe having a P3 for the Valley Line is a good thing after all

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Kinda sad that the train frequency is so low that there's a demand for live tracking of the trains. Ideally, train frequency would be high enough that you wouldn't have to worry about the schedules but could still catch a train within a five minute wait but idk when we'll see those train...

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

It'll probably happen but not in my lifetime. Probably in conjunction with extending the Valley Line past Mill Woods to Summerside.
