How did TransEd drop the ball this badly? This is on top of a bad concrete pour for the Whitemud overpass that required them to completely redo it a few years back.

Exactly. It takes them a week at most to repave the asphalt highway sections on the other hand (like how they've done so on parts of the eastern leg). (I may be exaggerating but to me, it almost looks like they just did that out of nowhere).

All this for one extra lane per direction that'll probably fill up in a few months to the original traffic levels because of induced demand. If only they paved roadway with asphalt from the beginning 🙁

Anyone know why they knocked down the lampposts along the completed portion of the MUP by Terwillegar Drive?

Jesus Christ, that MUP crossing the directional ramp and the loop looks terrifying! I hope at the very least, the city installs flashing yellow pedestrian-activated lights. Knowing Edmonton drivers, one-ton hunks of metal will be barreling through those crossings at Henday speeds.

It'll probably happen but not in my lifetime. Probably in conjunction with extending the Valley Line past Mill Woods to Summerside.
