I hate crossing slip lanes because of how hard it is to check for cars coming behind you.

    Downtown Crime

That much I agree with you on. But think about what you're implying - council's main failing is that they haven't purged the commission (even though it's supposed to be apolitical) and strong armed EPS into getting off their ass. That and the loitering bylaw.

    Downtown Crime

Most of the blame falls on the police. The city can't direct their operations - hopefully this letter means they'll shape up.

    103 Avenue Civic Precinct Renewal

Fun but probably bad idea: after a demolition permit is granted for a DC2 zoned lot, start a timer. After X years, the city assesses the property as if it were complete (even if it's not). Maybe it starts at 10% of completed value, but increases every year. If the land gets sold to the city...

What do you guys feel is the biggest risk to the project? Have there been any recent setbacks? A while back there was a survey that mentioned a $50 annual pass. Is this still something you're considering? Will you be integrating your downtown station design with the new ped bridge? Great to...

Is this really necessary? The e-scooters didn't really cause many issues last year imo.

Is this estimate a sign the developers are serious or is it just standard marketing?

Blatchford Development | City of Edmonton

It could go either way. I think we'll just have to see if sales keep up even with 4% interest rates. If they do, then I'd agree with 30-50/year.

I figure that's because of the permanent conversion they're doing there.
