    Edmonton Real Estate Market

I think we could be up another 30% from here by Fall.

    Stantec Tower | 250.84m | 66s | ICE District Prop.

Great comp! That should raise the price of everything in the building, and give developers confidence that new luxury towers in downtown Edmonton could get $1,000 per sq. ft. for presales.

    Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

This is a 20 year plan. This development will be attractive to future generations. I wouldn't expect much movements in the short term.

    ICE District Phase 2 | 149.95m | ?s | ICE District Prop.

Awesome! Hopefully they can start construction next year :)

    The Quarters Hotel and Residences | 280.1m | 80s | Alldritt Land | KENNEDY

With their sales centre opening soon, does anyone know when they may get a permit for the tower? Have they applied yet?

    The Quarters Hotel and Residences | 280.1m | 80s | Alldritt Land | KENNEDY

They own the land, it'll revitalize that part of downtown, it's near the conference centre, and no other tower would have as good of a view.

Hopefully they start construction, at least on the pilings, this Spring.

    Downtown Real Estate

That's true. This is a hotel development. I had a place in the Shangri-la in Toronto up until 2019. The condo fee was quite high, and it was increasing at a rapid pace, which led me to sell it. My rental just didn't make sense anymore.

    Downtown Real Estate

Condo fees aren't usually this high, even in Toronto.

    Downtown Real Estate

A lot of people are pretty desperate to sell. Might still be worth it to offer $70K less... I'll bet you could get it for $4XX,XXX.

    Downtown Real Estate

Still WAY overpriced, IMO. This one will sit unless they reduce the price.

    The Parks | 146.91m | 45s | 35s | 13s | Pangman | Hariri Pontarini

Love it! Hopefully we can stop the sprawl, and have most families consider downtown as their first option for buying a condo and raising children. We just need to implement a moratorium on new suburban development for five years. I have contacted my councilor, and I encourage others to do so...

    Suburban Development and Sprawl

Downtown after work heading south on 109 Street to the High Level bridge is already very congested. I can't imagine how it would be if we attract more companies to relocate downtown, and added thousands of well paying jobs. And let's not kid ourselves; most would likely drive to and from their...

    Suburban Development and Sprawl

Honestly, we need fewer cars in Edmonton. I'm not sure if it's currently permitted under the Municipal Government Act, but council needs to work with the upcoming NDP provincial government to put in congestion and toll charges if anyone wants to drive into downtown. That's the progressive...

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I strongly suspect that the West LRT will be slowed down to the point of stopping work on it for now to re-evaluate. As you said, even Andrew Knack is now hesitating. I think Covid changed everything.
