I saw a video last week on the Vancouver SkyTrain expansion and it got me thinking about what a similar train line would look like for the Greater Edmonton Area. Here is my rendition of what a similar line would be. I call it the North Saskatchewan River line. It goes from downtown Fort...
Originally I was suggesting an expansion similar to this—an extension going North to St Albert with an extension going southwest to Windemere. With the entire line expanding to two lanes.
With the expansion of the Metro Line LRT, to St Albert and a likely extension to the south of the line afterwards, what is the likelihood that the line gets expanded to two lines the whole way?
That would be a dream come true for me. In it's time it was perfect. I can just imagine how much better the transit of the city would be/how much better the city would have been buit today if they kep the lines and kept adding on to them.
I am sorry that you experienced such treatment but stories such as yours are exactly why it would be great to see it happen. With more diversification, situations like that will be far less and will bring people together.
With Strathcona County having a population close to 100k, and Sherwood Park’s being at over 70k. The area should be able to support two LRT lines. One on Baseline and one on Wye Road.
