Following their success with Ultima, Westrich Pacific Corp. is shifting their focus southwards, albeit by only half a block. In an interview with CTV News, Westrich Pacific's Co-CEO David Sanche unveiled that the developer plans to start work next month on their highly anticipated Encore Tower, which will climb even higher than the 32-storey Ultima.

Before the Dub Architects-designed tower will begin making an impact on the street, its six underground levels will need to be assembled. To get to that stage, crews invariably have to excavate the site. The size of the incoming hole at 103 Street and 102 Avenue will rival those of the ICE District towers. Encore will also be climbing to a comparable 43 storeys, with floor-to-ceiling glass exposing residents to an ample amount of sunlight and views.

Like Ultima, Encore will employ a ground-level aesthetic reminiscent of the brick buildings in the area. This three-storey lobby entrance will contain a sweeping set of private amenities, including a lounge with wet bar, a fully equipped gym, and an indoor/outdoor fireplace. In order to take advantage of Edmonton's fleeting summer, the project will also come with a barbecue-equipped patio and a sundeck area with the requisite wading pool.

Floors five to 37 host the bulk of the 164 units, sizing in between 812 and 1,484 square feet. Because of the tower's indentations, each unit is essentially a corner unit, with dramatic multi-directional views ready to be enjoyed. The upper levels are then reserved for penthouses — each with a private outdoor terrace — which range in size from 1,294 to 2,786 square feet.

Construction is expected to take about 30 months to complete, meaning Encore should be firmly planted into the downtown urban fabric by mid-2019.
