Open house tentatively coming in early November, when more information will become public.

I have more details but I'm going to sit on them for now. It's not actually confidential info, but since they were provided to me as a community league representative (as opposed to an SRC rep), I wouldn't feel right leaking them just yet. I will say it's a pretty big development, though.

@Daveography I doubt that you can say too much that isn't pertinent and relevant. Congratulations on the interview -- I look forward to the "fallout". But seriously, I doubt they could find a more seriously civic-minded person. I also like that this project is in the hands of Stantec -- I have a growing respect and admiration for this company.

Major development pitched for Holyrood property next to Valley Line LRT
The Valley Line LRT construction has spurred a new plan to put up apartments on the aging Holyrood Gardens townhouse site near the Bonnie Doon traffic circle.

Regency Developments is considering building row houses, high-rises and medium-density (six to eight storey) apartments on the property east of 85 Street between 90 Avenue and 95 Avenue, Nancy MacDonald, a Stantec principal working on the project, said Thursday.

“The site is on a future LRT line, so it’s a TOD (transit-oriented development) site. There will be a range of density and heights there,” she said.

...the developers indicated during a meeting last month that they’re looking at erecting seven towers, one 26-storeys tall and the rest between 22 and 24 storeys.

They also want to put in apartments less than six storeys high and townhouses...

I guess now the cat's out of the bag, so:

Ambitious proposal sees blocks of residential towers in Edmonton’s Holyrood neighbourhood
One of Edmonton’s older, established communities could soon see several blocks of residential towers go up if an ambitious proposal goes through.

Regency Developments‘ project would replace a few blocks of townhomes in Holyrood with seven residential towers ranging in height between 22 and 26 storeys.

In between the towers would be apartments and town homes three to five storeys in height as well as some retail space.

I'm quoted in this article, and was interviewed in a segment that was on News at Noon. Will post a link to the video when it's available online.

Jan. 20 open house display boards showing two potential options.

Too bad they went with option B. Would have been nice to have more park space here. C'est la vie.

Good to see that they intend to start the project before the transit is on the door step though.
